Founded in 1844, Butler Hospital is the state's only non-profit, free-standing psychiatric hospital providing adults, seniors and adolescents specialized assessment and treatment for all major psychiatric illnesses and substance abuse.

Butler is the major affiliated teaching hospital for psychiatry and behavioral health of The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University. The Eating Disorder Program at Hasbro Children’s Hospital provides multidisciplinary, family-centered care for children and adolescents with eating disorders. 

Our program includes comprehensive inpatient and outpatient medical, nutritional and mental health services to promote and maintain physical and mental well-being.

We work closely with the Medical Psychiatric Program at Hasbro Children's Hospital. Its Partial Hospital Program offers structured care during the school day for children and adolescents with medical and emotional issues, while its Inpatient Program provides more intensive inpatient psychiatric care for patients with medical problems.

Founded in 1964, Newport County Community Mental Health Center provides trauma informed evidence-based services to children, adolescents, families, and adults who are experiencing problems with mental illness, substance abuse or stress in their lives that would benefit from counseling and other behavioral health services and supports. Our person-centered recovery approach to care offers individuals a chance to achieve a better quality of life and recovery from emotional illness.

About RI MomsPRN

The Rhode Island Maternal Psychiatry Resource Network (RI MomsPRN) is a free psychiatric telephone consultation service for health care providers who treat pregnant and postpartum women. RI MomsPRN is a collaborative project between the Rhode Island Department of Health (RIDOH) and Women & Infants Center for Women’s Behavioral Health, funded by a five-year grant from the U.S. Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA).

It was established to build the capacity of providers to screen for behavioral health and substance use disorders in their pregnant and postpartum patients, and respond with appropriate treatment and referral.

The Family Care Community Partnership (FCCP) serves families at-risk for involvement with the Rhode Island Department of Children Youth and Families.

FCCP services include referrals; triage; initial needs screening; in-person intake; resource information; referral and linkages to community resources; and high-fidelity wraparound services (which include crisis stabilization and are a type of family preservation service).

Provides a community of people with mental illness who are working together toward a common goal, to get their lives back. Helps open new Clubhouses, accredits Clubhouses, trains and mentors new and mature Clubhouses, educates the public, advocates for government funding, and conducts research.

The mission of Recovery International is to use the cognitive-behavioral, peer-to-peer, self-help training system developed by Abraham Low, MD, to help individuals gain skills to lead more peaceful and productive lives.

Provides "QPR" (Question, Persuade and Refer) suicide prevention training to raise awareness about suicide as a problem in our community, identifies the most common causes of suicidal thinking, feeling and actions, and teaches the trainee three simple skills to help prevent the unnecessary tragedy of suicide. The program is available in Spanish.

A gatekeeper is anyone who is in a position to recognize the warning signs of a suicide crisis and because of their training, knows what to do.

Training includes a QPR booklet for each participant, an expanded list of warning signs, and an expanded list of local resources. ( Fees are negotiated through QPR Institute.)

We also provide training for mental health professionals in suicide assessment and management and triage training programs for crisis lines and other first responders.
