Sensible Development is an innovative pediatric outpatient therapy clinic that provides individualized treatment for children with a wide variety of developmental and learning challenges. Our services are guided by principles in neurodevelopment, sensory integration, and learning theory. Sensible Development has a large therapy gym with specialized equipment and smaller treatment spaces that are used to create the optimal therapeutic environment for children. We believe that consistent therapeutic intervention developed in a clinical setting and then implemented in a child’s natural environments by the key players in his/her life is most effective in creating a lasting change and promoting greater success in everyday activities. Our goal is to support children and families where they live, learn, and play!

Sensory Station is a private, family centered therapy facility specializing in the care of children from birth to 21 years of age dealing with learning, social and physical challenges ;limiting their participation in everyday activities. The URI Speech and Hearing Centers provide comprehensive clinical services, both at the Kingston campus and our Pawtucket facility. The centers offer a broad range of speech-language and hearing services to clients of all ages, who receive treatment from qualified professionals, with the assistance of trained graduate students in speech-language pathology and audiology.

Prestige Therapy provides Speech and Occupational Therapy services to children ages 2 and up across several locations throughout the state of Rhode Island including East Providence, Warwick, Barrington, and Lincoln.

The department of pediatric rehabilitation offers specialized services for pediatric patients who need physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech language pathology or audiology services. We provide both short-term and long-term rehabilitation services.

Pediatric rehabilitation services at Lifespan include occupational therapy, physical therapy, speech-language pathology, audiology, and neurological and pain consultations for children and adolescents who have physical, developmental, and sensory motor challenges; have experienced injuries; or have other medical needs.

Our facilities in Providence, East Providence (COAST Clinic at Bradley Hospital), East Greenwich, Lincoln and Central Falls provide continuation of care in an outpatient setting. We will be able to refer you to the location that can best provide the appropriate services and resources.

COAST Clinic services include occupational therapy (OT) and speech-language pathology (SLP), and address alterations in fine and gross motor development impacting coordination, strength, endurance and body awareness.

• A functional sensory processing, occupational therapy and/or speech-language evaluation.
• Treatment programs designed to enhance functioning in home and community environments.
• Duration of treatment based on the functional goals of each individual child.

The Communication, Occupational and Sensory Treatment (COAST) Clinic at Bradley Hospital offers comprehensive evaluation and treatment for children and adolescents who have difficulty participating in age-appropriate activities due to physical, neurological, cognitive, behavioral, communication or sensory processing challenges. Our occupational therapists and/or speech language pathologists will work with each child and family to create an individualized program to meet the child's specific needs.

Lynn Gauman Speech Pathology Services is a full service speech language pathology clinic that addresses communication and feeding disorders in children and young adults. We perform evaluations and offer individual and group treatment.

She holds a Master’s Degree in Communication Disorders from the University of Massachusetts Amherst and a Bachelor’s Degree in Linguistics and Psychology from the University of Connecticut. Prior to becoming an SLP, she worked in a cognitive neuroscience lab at Brown University, an experience which heavily informs her scientific, evidence-based approach to speech therapy. Her specialization is supporting the speech, language, and literacy skills of school-age children and adolescents (PreK-12).

Serves as a resource center on hearing loss and spoken language approaches and related issues. Promotes opportunities and rights of individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing to learn to use, maintain, and improve all aspects of their verbal communication, including their abilities to use residual hearing and process both spoken and written language. Offers scholarship/ financial award opportunities, membership, information, and publications.

Provide callers with fact sheets, resources and referrals to other organizations and agencies. Topics include hearing, balance, smell and taste, voice, speech, and language disorders.
