Provider Profiles:

The Department of Audiology at Women & Infants Hospital offers hearing services for children and adults of all ages. Our team works closely with the Newborn Nursery and Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) medical providers to coordinate audiology services for newborns, particularly infants with multiple medical challenges. We work closely with Early Intervention and various school systems to provide quality services for toddlers and school-aged children. We have extensive training and experience in the diagnosis and management of hearing loss resulting from middle ear disease, noise exposure, aging, and many other causes.

Gallaudet Regional Center East will send a deaf or hard of hearing tutor into the family’s home once a week to work with the family. The goal of this program is to introduce family members to Sign Language, enabling them to communicate with their child at the earliest age possible.

families will be contacted about their referral. They will be given the
option to be matched with the first provider in their community who
has an opening, or they can choose to wait for a specific provider who
serves their community.

Services Provided:

Northern Rhode Island Collaborative’s Auditory Oral Foundations was developed to capitalize on improving and expanding technologies for the hearing impaired – in particular the very young. Our students, using technologies such as hearing aids and cochlear implants, learn techniques to better communicate.
