The Epilepsy Center at Boston Children's Hospital offers evaluation, testing, treatment and counseling for children with epilepsy and seizures. We offer a full range of epilepsy care, including medication-based treatment for seizures and comprehensive evaluation for epilepsy surgery, when needed.

The hour-long classes provide a positive atmosphere for the exploration of movement while maintaining a focus on the individual abilities of each child. The Adaptive Dance teaching staff is committed to helping each child develop self-confidence. 

Festival Ballet Providence and Meeting Street School have teamed up to offer an Adaptive Dance Program.

Based on a successful program developed by Boston Children’s Hospital and Boston Ballet, the program is designed to foster a love of dance and creative expression in children with Down Syndrome. Although the primary goal of the program is for the children to experience the joy of dance and music, it also offers other important benefits. These include improvements in coordination, overall fitness, balance, self-esteem, self-expression, teamwork,  rhythm, and musicality.

Pediatric Neurologist and Epileptologist

Dr. Duyu Nie, MD, PhD is a board-certified pediatric neurologist and board-eligible epileptologist. 

Dr. Nie completed a combined residency training in both pediatrics and neurology at Tufts Medical Center. He completed a one-year fellowship training in clinical neurophysiology/epilepsy at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC) and Boston Children’s Hospital (BCH).

Dr. Nie is an active member of the American Epilepsy Society (AES), the Child Neurology Society (CNS), the American Clinical Neurophysiology Society (ACNS), the American Academy of Neurology (AAN), the Massachusetts Medical Society (MMS) and the Rhode Island Medical Society.
