The Economic Progress Institute is a nonpartisan research and policy organization dedicated to improving the economic well-being of low- and modest-income Rhode Islanders. The Assistance Guides provide information about government assistance programs and community-based resources that help low- and modest-income Rhode Islanders meet basic needs. The Assistance Guides provides a general overview, eligibility rules and application information for each program in the areas of Income Supports, Food Assistance, Health Care, Child Care, Housing, Utilities and Tax Credits.

Ocean State Center for Independent Living , OSCIL, provides information on community resources and services to persons with disabilities and their families, service providers, and the general public, as well as receiving referrals for our agency for direct services. Information is provided by phone, email, mail, and one-on-one to walk-ins to our Center.

To keep our staff and consumers safe, OSCIL offices will remain closed to the public, with staff working staggered schedules and remotely, until further notice.

Integrated services to address the unique needs of domestic violence survivors, as we work with them to break the cycle of violence and find secure, stable housing.

Through the Domestic Violence Program we offer comprehensive trauma-informed services for domestic violence survivors, including a 24-hour crisis hotline, emergency shelter, rapid re-housing, advocacy, support groups, and children's enrichment programs.

Provides 24/7 hotline with housing counselors to help individuals avoid foreclosure and stay current on mortgage payments. Can act as a liaison with your lender, provide information, offer professional guidance, identify options, and connect you to additional resources.
