Provider Profiles: Hasbro Children's Hospital's emergency department is designated as a Level I trauma center, serving the needs of young trauma patients as well as children needing less acute care.

The department is staffed twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week by specialists trained in pediatric emergency medicine and other pediatric sub-specialties, including toxicology, pediatric emergency medicine and critical care.

The 12,200-square-foot emergency department is staffed by eleven full-time physicians and sees more than 48,000 patients a year. It offers a dedicated room for orthopedics and sedation, three rooms specially designed for behavioral health, and several ancillary services, including an interpreter, social worker and transporter.
