The Blackstone Valley Community Action Program provides a number of services to its clients from Basic Needs, energy heating assistance to job training.

Ocean State Center for Independent Living , OSCIL, provides information on community resources and services to persons with disabilities and their families, service providers, and the general public, as well as receiving referrals for our agency for direct services. Information is provided by phone, email, mail, and one-on-one to walk-ins to our Center.

To keep our staff and consumers safe, OSCIL offices will remain closed to the public, with staff working staggered schedules and remotely, until further notice.

We work with most state insurance as well as the RI Home Modification Grant. We try and help our customers find funding sources to help fund their needed equipment.

Oakley Home Access is a Home Safety Team of experts owned by a registered & licensed Occupational Therapist & Contractor who is a Certified Aging in Place Specialist.  We modify homes for increased mobility, accessibility, safety, and fall prevention.

Oakley Home Access offers a free, no obligation home safety evaluation performed by an Occupational Therapist who will make recommendations about equipment and modifications considering the residents' current and potential future needs.

The LeadSafe Homes Program is currently prioritizing applications for properties which meet the following criteria.

• Property located in the target areas of Central Falls, Pawtucket, Newport and East Providence.
  Do you live in one of the cities above? Click here to learn if you are in the targeted area > 

• Property constructed prior to 1978

• Pregnant woman or child under the age of 6 resides in property; or a child under age 6 visits the property

• Owner or tenant meets HUD income eligibility requirements under 80% AMI

• Department of Health referred properties

RIHousing’s LeadSafe Homes Program provides remediation of lead-paint based hazards, such as:

• New windows and doors
• Interior and exterior painting
• Soil remediation

There are also resources to provide other healthy homes improvements, including, but not limited to, air quality improvements such as dryer vents and bathroom fans, minor electrical upgrades, and installation of carbon monoxide and smoke detectors.

The LeadSafe Homes Program provides financial assistance to eligible homeowners to remediate their property for lead.

Low income individuals in need who are referred by professionals.

Assists low income individuals with a range of needs including mobility equipment (wheelchairs, walkers, vehicle modifications such as hand controls and lifts), ramps and minor house modifications for accessibility, medical equipment (not including medical bills or back bills), and prostheses. Applications accepted from referring professionals only (social worker, case manager, teacher, school counselor, minister, etc.).
