The forums take place through out the state during the last week of July in honor of the passage of the Americans with Disabilities Act ( ADA).

• Provides partial reimbursement for modifications made to homes for adults with disabilities. See link for eligibility criteria.

We are the Greater Providence area chapter of PFLAG, formerly known as Parents and Friends of Lesbians and Gays. We provide support, education and advocacy for parents, families, friends and allies of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender people across Rhode Island, Southeastern Massachusetts, and Eastern Connecticut.

The Leadership Series is a free course that we created with support from the RI Department of BHDDH as part of our mission to empower people who have a developmental disability to advocate for themselves and others.

Advocates in Action Rhode Island is an independent non-profit Statewide Self-Advocacy organization. Our mission is to empower people who have a developmental disability to advocate for themselves and others, to support and strengthen the Self‐Advocacy movement and to raise awareness about disability issues in the community. We strive to help people become educated about their options, aware of available resources, able to make informed decisions, in control of their own lives, and involved within the community.

DSSRI is a parent support organization dedicated to promoting the rights, dignity and potential of all individuals with Down Syndrome through advocacy, education, public awareness and support.

The Arc provides vocational training, employment opportunities, therapeutic and recreational supports and more.

Provides free, expert, and confidential guidance on workplace accommodations and disability employment issues. For both employers and employees, Accommodation Information by Disability: A to Z; and Accommodation Ideas by Disability, Limitation, Occupation, Product or Service, and Topic.

Consultants offer one-on-one guidance on workplace accommodations, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and related legislation, and self-employment and entrepreneurship options for people with disabilities.

Promotes progressive policies, sound research, effective practices, and universal human rights for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

UCP and its 64 affiliates have a mission to advance the independence, productivity and full citizenship of people with a broad range of disabilities by providing services and support to more than 176,000 children and adults every day. UCP has worked to ensure the inclusion of individuals with disabilities in every facet of society. UCP will continue to push for the social, legal and technological changes that increase accessibility and independence, allowing people with disabilities to dream their own dreams.
