College Student Intensive Outpatient Program for Young Adults is designed to meet the specific needs of matriculating college students, age 18 to 26 years old, who are struggling to function in the academic environment due to mood related issues, such as depression and anxiety. 

Connect Intensive Outpatient Program link

Founded in 1844, Butler Hospital is the state's only non-profit, free-standing psychiatric hospital providing adults, seniors and adolescents specialized assessment and treatment for all major psychiatric illnesses and substance abuse.

Butler is the major affiliated teaching hospital for psychiatry and behavioral health of The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University. It is the flagship hospital for its Department of Psychiatry and Human Behavior, which has been recognized by its peers as one of the top ten in the US. Butler is the major training site and the base hospital for the Brown University General Residency in Psychiatry. Many physicians and psychologists at Butler are also part of the Brown Institute for Brain Science and participate in exciting clinical research initiatives with this world-renowned center for neuroscience.  The Providence Center is at the forefront of innovative approaches to behavioral health care designed to meet the changing needs of the more than 18,000 Rhode Islanders it serves each year.

The mission is to help adults, adolescents and children affected by psychiatric illnesses, emotional problems and addictions by providing treatment and supportive services within a community setting.

The Providence Center is also one of Rhode Island's Community Mental Health Centers providing care to adults

A recovery high school combining academics and therapeutic support for students overcoming drug and alcohol addiction.

Anchor Learning Academy is operated by The Providence Center, the leading provider of mental health and substance use treatment services for adults, children and families in Rhode Island.

If your child or student would benefit from the individualized learning environment and recovery supports of Anchor Learning Academy, please call Christopher Mahon, educational coordinator, at (401) 432-7106 or CMahon@provctr.org. Christopher and his staff will guide you through the admission process.

Services are available for uninsured or underinsured. Services are offered on a sliding fee scale based on income and family size. In addition, many other types of insurance are also accepted. New patients are welcome.

Services for mild to moderate mental health or substance use, toxicology, peer recovery support and medication.

Adults, youth, and child substance use referrals and call-ins all funnel through ACCESS where they are screened to determine the level of care needed based on severity. General appointments are scheduled based on clinician and program availability. The program serves mild, moderate or severely ill persons who require counseling and/or psychiatric care.

East Bay Center-Adams Farley Counseling Center is part of the East Bay Community Action Program's Primary, Behavioral Health and Dental Health Center.

Adults

Services are available to those who are uninsured or underinsured. Services are offered on a sliding fee scale based on income and family size*. In addition, Medicare, Medicaid, and all other 3rd party insurances are accepted.

No Walk-In Services, must schedule an appointment.

Emergency Services provides stabilization, support and advocacy during this transitional period while coordinating care to keep this person safe and subsequently reintegrating back to their community.

Community Support Services

Emergency Services provides 24/7/365 immediate response to those in crisis to cope with an emergency situation who need to be stabilized and/or who need acute psychiatric hospitalization.

Clients may self-refer, be referred by police, emergency rooms, family members or other community agencies. We assist those dealing with an immediate psychiatric crisis, presenting the risk of harm to themselves or others.

BH Link is a behavioral health facility designed to provide immediate assistance to a person in crisis by providing innovative crisis intervention services, and connecting people to ongoing treatment and care. Services are provided by our professional team of registered nurses, counselors, psychiatrists, phone screeners, and peer specialists. Our clinicians will listen to clients’ concerns and take the necessary steps to get people through their crisis, and help make connections to longer term services if needed.
