Eligible for services under the Division of Developmental Disabilities. A Shared Living Arrangement (SLA) is a residential option for adults with Intellectual and/or Developmental Disabilities (I/DD) who reside in Rhode Island who are in need of 24 hour care.

The Shared Living (SLA) model is based on carefully matching a person in need of support with a host family in a natural home, as opposed to an institutional environment. The person receiving support is an active participant in the process of selecting the host family. Services include having supports, meals and activities that are a good fit for them.
The host family is a paid contractor for their services.

Criteria varies with each program. Except for Employment Services, participants will need to qualify for funding from services from Behavioral Health Developmental Disabilities and Hospitals (BHDDH) and Medicaid Eligible.
