Parents are their children’s first and most important teachers. Our Parents as Teachers™ program can assist you by providing

• Fun, educational activities for you and your child during personal visits
• Playgroups and family outings
• Parenting information, resources and support
• Developmental screening

Registration and proof of immunization are required for the Drop-Off Play Group. Proof of residency in Foster is required for all playgroups.

Home-Based Therapeutic Services (HBTS) This intensive, in-home, therapeutic model is designed for children and families who would benefit from working with a team of behavioral health professionals for several hours each week on treatment goals and objectives. This service also offers formalized American Sign Language Classes at a reduced cost to parents in this program. HBTS

Personal Assistance Support Services (PASS)
This program promotes skill development both in the home and community environments where the focus is to improve the child's ability to complete daily living skills, make safety and self-preserving decisions, and to participate in social roles and social settings. This service is designed to be less intensive than HBTS.

CHILD, Inc. is a private non-profit agency providing comprehensive child development and family support services to low and moderate income families residing in Kent County, Rhode Island.

CHILD, Inc. owns and operates four child development facilities. All CHILD, Inc. facilities are licensed for child care by the Rhode Island Department of Education. All facilities are also approved and funded by the Federal Administration for Children and Families. Welcome to Orchid Montessori School, a unique new Montessori Inclusion program for ages 3-6 in East Providence, RI! Our goal is to empower all children, regardless of neurotype, to learn, thrive, and explore their passions. 

Our unique program is a lab program designed in partnership with Access Speech and Allied Therapies and Autism Included. We are working to develop a neurodiversity-positive model of classroom inclusion that can be replicated in other early childhood classrooms.
