The Office of Family Learning is a vital and active component of the North Kingstown School Department. All Family Learning Programs are school-based or school-linked to enhance and support the district's commitment to student achievement through family learning. As the "Door to the District" we strive to help all families feel engaged in their children's education, supported in their parenting journey, and confident in their ability to be their child's first and best teacher.

As the town's designated Child Opportunity Zone site or COZ (pronounced COZY), we have been serving children and families in our community for over 20 years. Most family education programs are available to all North Kingstown families and many are offered at no charge.

Child Outreach is a FREE developmental screening program offered through the Coventry Public Schools in conjunction with the Rhode Island Department of Education. The ACT Now Clinic provides assessment and clinical triage of pediatric patients and their families, and allows for earlier access to specialty care. The Center for Children and Families at Women and Infants provides behavioral health services across developmental stages of the family. Developmental stages served include: adult services to support women during the perinatal and postpartum period; family-based mental health services for parents and infants; infant services around sleep and regulatory difficulties; early childhood services with a focus on diagnostic evaluation and child/family therapy; and services to children of a broad age range with autism or a parental concern for autism. 

The Center for Children and Families is closely aligned with the Brown Center For The Study Of Children At Risk.
