The URI Speech and Hearing Centers provide comprehensive clinical services, both at the Kingston campus and our Pawtucket facility. The centers offer a broad range of speech-language and hearing services to clients of all ages, who receive treatment from qualified professionals, with the assistance of trained graduate students in speech-language pathology and audiology.

The URI Couple and Family Therapy Clinic is conveniently located at the University of Rhode Island’s Kingston Campus. We are the first building on the left as you turn on to Lower College Road at the intersection of Lower College Road and Route 138.

Child & Adolescent Psychiatry

Steven A. Feldman, M.D. is Board Certified in Pediatrics, Psychiatry, and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. He is the Consulting Psychiatrist for the University of Rhode Island Health Service and the School Physician for the Warwick Rhode Island Public Schools. He is an expert in the interface between education, special education, and mental health issues.

Allison is a Speech-Language Pathologist with a passion for the art of communication. She holds a Master’s degree in Communicative Disorders from the University of Rhode Island and a Bachelor’s degree in Music with a focus in Vocal Performance from Salve Regina University. She is certified by the American Speech-Language and Hearing Association (ASHA) and is licensed to practice in Rhode Island.

Mary Lou is very passionate about the work of advocating for children and helping families navigate the Special Education world. Her specialty is collaborating with families and districts to address students' needs through respectful dialogue and interactions. She is able to understand the role of each member of the team and successfully overcomes barriers in communication. 

Mary Lou has had over 30 years experience in education.  Graduating from the University of Rhode Island (1988) with a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education and Social Sciences, Master's Degree in Special Education (1994) and Principal Residency Network with Certification as a Building Administrator. She has sat in every seat at the special education table from parent to  special educator, classroom teacher, principal, team chairperson, and special educational advocate.  In addition to her advocacy work, Mary Lou is also a part-time faculty at the University of Rhode Island in the School of Education.
