Serving students from Middletown, Little Compton and Tiverton, ages 3-22

Supplemental special education and related services are provided to identified students starting at age three, through age twenty-one or their high school graduation.  Should you suspect that your child may have a disability which adversely impacts his/her educational performance, please talk to your school principal to make a referral for a special education evaluation.
 
Decisions about special education assessment, eligibility, and services are always made with parents involved as full participants.  

Middletown Public Schools ensures that students with exceptionalities receive support and intervention to achieve high expectations and exit public education as lifelong learners prepared to achieve success in the global market-place. Middletown partners with neighboring communities of Tiverton and Little Compton, to provide our special education program. Newport County Regional Special Education provides the Program to allow us to team with the local personnel to meet the federal and state mandates for special education services.

The Newport County Regional Special Education Program (NCRSEP) serves the towns of Tiverton, Little Compton, & Middletown. Its purpose is to provide the full continuum of special education services for children with disabilities with Individual Education Programs (IEPs) who reside in these three towns.

The Newport County Regional Special Education Local Advisory Committee is a group of parents and professionals working together to provide advice to the Regional Special Education Department with regard to Special Education Services.  We act as an advocacy group for students with disabilities from Middletown, Little Compton, and Tiverton. The Newport County Regional Special Education Program is a cooperative program for the towns of Little Compton, Middletown and Tiverton . The purpose is to join together in providing the full continuum of special education services for children identified with disabilities. link
