The Children's Neurodevelopment Center (CNDC) at Hasbro Children's Hospital provides evaluation and treatment of children with neurological, genetic, developmental, metabolic and behavioral disorders. The center incorporates multidisciplinary care with pediatric urology, orthopedics, neurosurgery and craniofacial programs.


The center is located on Prairie Avenue, in an area designed to be particularly spacious, comfortable and welcoming to children and their parents, who are essential partners in their children's care.

Accept all insurance plans; some may require prior authorization which will be obtained by the CNDC.

The ACT Now Clinic provides assessment and clinical triage of pediatric patients and their families, and allows for earlier access to specialty care. The clinic uses a process-oriented triage and care coordination model, including the development of clinically appropriate care plans for children with complex conditions. Clinical teams include a licensed clinician and a family service coordinator. 


As is appropriate, families will be given the option to join our Three Cedar Family Center program for ongoing support and care management service.

Must be eligible for Medical Assistance, including RIte Share and RIte Care under age 21, RI resident, live at home and meet the diagnostic criteria. Self-Referral or recommendation from Primary Care Physician, medical or behavioral specialist.

Care Coordination for families of children and youth with special needs. Cedar staff will work closely with the family and professionals to access needs and to develop a Shared Plan of Care.

We are a “one-stop shop” for your family, providing assessment, referrals and resources. At Three Cedar, we tailor an action plan to the goals you set for your child and family, and you’ll play a key role in making decisions about the plan. Cedar is a Medicaid product and is meant for children from birth to age 21.

William D. Brown, MD, FAAP, is medical director of pediatric neurology at Hasbro Children’s Hospital. He has served as a clinical associate professor of neurology and pediatrics at The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University for 11 years. He has been an attending physician of pediatrics and neurology at Rhode Island Hospital since 1995.

Ana C. Albuja Ponce, MD, is a pediatric neurologist at Hasbro Children’s Hospital and an assistant professor at The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University. Her clinical interests include functional neurological disorders and epilepsy.

Lauren Massingham, MD is with the division of genetics at Hasbro Children’s Hospital; she is also an assistant professor of pediatrics at The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University. Dr. Massingham is board certified in pediatrics and clinical genetics. Her clinical interests include all aspects of pediatric genetics, with specific focus on pediatric genetics and cancer genetics. Her research interests include gene expression profiling of Turner syndrome and Down syndrome. She is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics and Genetics Teleconference Feingold Center.
