Eligibility: Providing a range of services for children birth to 3 with or at risk of developmental delays due to medical history or environmental factors at no cost to the family. Coverage areas include: Barrington, Bristol, Central Falls, Cranston, Cumberland, East Greenwich, East Providence, Johnston, Lincoln, North Kingstown, North Providence, North Smithfield, Pawtucket, Providence, Smithfield, Warren,Warwick and West Warwick.
Services Provided: Early Intervention services begin with a full assessment of each child's skills in all areas of development. Following this assessment, goals are developed to address concerns and a child's specific needs. Families learn new skills and strategies to help their child to develop and learn through everyday play, daily activities, and the family's typical routine. Services occur in the home or other settings where the child typically spends his/her day.
Family Service of Rhode Island Early Intervention program provides services to infant/children with hearing loss.
The team of experienced professionals includes: educators, social workers, nurses, physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech therapists, nutritionists and interpreters.
